File tools that respect your files
Most "free" online file tools work the same way: you upload your document to someone else's server, wait in a queue, sit through a few ads, and hope the company on the other end deletes your file afterwards. For a holiday snap that's fine. For a bank statement, a passport scan, a signed contract or an exam-form photo, it's a lot to ask of a website you found thirty seconds ago.
FileKitt takes a different approach. Every tool here runs inside your own browser using JavaScript and WebAssembly. When you drop in a file, it is read straight into your browser's memory, processed on your own computer, and handed back to you as a download. Nothing is transmitted to us. There is no upload progress bar because there is no upload — which also makes the tools noticeably faster than server-based converters, especially on large files or slow connections.

The suite covers the everyday file jobs that shouldn't require installing software or creating an account:

- Compress PDFs — get any document under a 100 KB, 200 KB or 500 KB upload cap without a watermark.
- Convert PDF tables to Excel or CSV — pull rows out of statements, invoices and reports into a spreadsheet you can actually work with.
- Convert between formats — PDF → JPG, JPG → PDF, and JPG ↔ PNG ↔ WebP, in batches.
- Merge PDFs — combine an application, certificates and an ID proof into one tidy file, in the order you choose.
- Clean messy CSVs — strip duplicate rows, blank lines and stray spaces before importing into Excel.
Why "exact size" matters
Ordinary compressors give you something "smaller" and leave you to guess. Government and institutional portals don't deal in "smaller" — they reject anything over a fixed number of kilobytes, and often anything under a minimum too. FileKitt's compressors are built around that reality: you tell them the exact ceiling, and they search for the highest image quality or PDF fidelity that still lands under it, so your upload is accepted on the first try instead of the fourth.
Private, free, and honest about it
FileKitt is free and supported by unobtrusive advertising. That's the whole business model — there are no paid tiers, no daily limits and no features held back behind a login. Because files are processed locally, using the tools with sensitive documents is safe by design rather than by promise: there is no server that could keep a copy.
