Scanned documents rarely arrive perfectly. A double sided stack run through a single sided feeder produces all the fronts followed by all the backs. A batch scanned in two goes ends up with the second half first. A phone scan picks up a stray page, a blank sheet or a duplicate shot of the page that came out blurry the first time. Rather than rescanning the whole stack, it is faster to drag the pages into the right order and delete what should not be there.
This tool renders a thumbnail of every page so you can recognise them by sight rather than by number. That matters with scans, where page three and page thirteen look identical in a list but obviously different as pictures. Move a page with the up and down controls, remove one with the delete control, and the list you see is exactly the document you will get.
Deleting pages is not only about tidiness. When a landlord asks for proof of income, a bank statement often contains far more than the salary line: every purchase, every transfer and every balance. Removing the pages that are not relevant before you send the file is the simplest form of data minimisation there is, and it is a good habit with anything containing financial, medical or identity information.
Pages are copied into the new document as they are, so text stays selectable, scans keep their original resolution and the file does not grow. Because the rebuilt PDF only contains the pages you kept, deleted pages are genuinely gone rather than hidden, which is not true of simply covering content with a white box in some editors.
If the pages are also facing the wrong way, rotate the PDF afterwards. To pull a section out into its own file, use split PDF, and to combine several documents into one before organising them, start with merge PDF. If the finished file needs to meet an upload limit, compress it to an exact size.
