How do I get my photo under 100 KB without ruining it?

Is my photo uploaded to your server?
No. Compression happens entirely inside your browser using its built-in image engine. Your photo never leaves your device — there is nothing to upload, and nothing for us to store.
What formats can I compress?
JPG, PNG and WebP input. Output is JPG (works everywhere) or WebP (smaller, supported by all modern browsers and portals). PNG output isn't offered because PNG can't hit small size targets for photos.

100 KB is the most common all-purpose photo cap on the web. It's the default on countless job-application portals, university admission forms and embassy document uploads, and it's the size people most often need for an email attachment that has to stay small. It's roomy enough that a good headshot looks genuinely sharp.

At 100 KB you have real quality to work with. A cropped portrait looks clean and professional, and even a modestly sized document photo or a simple graphic holds up well. The tool will keep full dimensions in most cases and simply dial the JPEG quality to the best value that stays under the cap, so the result usually looks close to the original at a glance.
Tips for a professional-looking upload
- For a résumé or LinkedIn-style photo, crop to head and shoulders and keep the background simple — it looks better and compresses more efficiently.
- Export from the original, not from a messaging app that already re-compressed the image, so you're not stacking compression on compression.
- JPG over PNG for photos. A photographic image saved as PNG will struggle to reach 100 KB at full size; JPG gets there with quality to spare.
